One thing I hate about desktops are the so many wires tangled all over the table. I was able to managed the mess by having a custom-made table just for my desktop. What I didn’t realize is monitors can help make your desk look more organized.

The Central Station Monitor LCA23A750 provides solution to centralize work and still get organized. One can even change the angle of the monitor. Like a docking station, the monitor serves as hubs that easily connect a user’s laptop to a range of other devices without the hassle of plugging and unplugging multiple cables every time. The CA 7 Series has an auto wireless detection option, which can free users from the restriction of wires by automatically finding and connecting with a user’s laptop within 1.5 meters.

Samsung HD monitors just got so much better by adding more features. They are such a good investment. We’ve owned two Samsung monitors since 2009 and until now, the picture quality and color vibrancy is just as good as the ones we see in brand-new monitors at stores. But for the first time, I felt the urge to replace them with something better. Today I got to try out two amazing new monitors from Samsung – the Samsung SyncMaster LT23A350 and the Samsung SyncMaster SA950 – and the features they give are unparalleled to any I’ve seen in the market today.

The Samsung SyncMaster LT23A350 is a multitasking marvel that could make my work so much easier. It’s a full HD (1920 x 1080) monitor that also has an internal HDTV receiver – meaning, I can watch TV shows while on the computer!

The HDTV receiver has digital TV functions you would see in any other HDTV, like auto-channel searches and TV show guides. Having a TV on a computer monitor would probably be a distraction for most people, but when your work involves the news and social media, having an monitor like this one makes it easier to live-Tweet important events or write commentaries as new developments emerge. This product really is an amazing innovation.

Besides the seamless integration of television viewing and personal computing, Samsung also promises to give you an HD monitor free of bright spots, which is included in the product’s 3-year warranty. The monitor’s viewing experience is also fully customizable, thanks to the SyncMaster’s “Magic” functions:

Magic Angle lets you enjoy a pre-set display angle that has the best contrast and glow, perfect for people who need to use two monitors at the same time.

Magic Color automatically analyzes incoming RGB light signals, giving you the most vivid, distinctive colors based on what’s being displayed at the moment.

Magic Bright lets you enjoy the screen brightness best suited for your current activities (ie. Internet browsing, gaming, movie viewing).

I never thought I’d see a day when computer monitors could support 3D, but it looks like that day has finally come! The second product Samsung unveiled is their new 3D LED monitor, the Samsung SyncMaster SA950. It’s equipped with a 3D HyperReal Engine which gives it a fast reaction time and delivers crisp 3D images without making your head spin.

It also has an Ultra Clear Panel that adds color to your 3D videos. And with a simple push of a button, you can transform your favorite 2D photos, images, or games to 3D, as well as customize your 3D viewing experience with personalized adjustments.

If you’re worried about the impact this device will make on the environment, Samsung took great pains to make this product as eco-friendly as possible. It’s lead-, mercury-, Freon- and VOC-free, and its exterior is 100% recyclable.

The SRP for the multi function monitor Samsung SyncMaster LT23A350 is 14,990. Stocks are available now.

The SRP of the Central Station Monitor LCA23A750 is 19,900 pesos and will be available by August.

The SRP of the 3D LED monitor, the Samsung SyncMaster SA950 is 31,990 . Stocks are available now.

If you’re looking for a handy laptop for Internet browsing, wait until June when Samsung and Acer finally release their versions of the Google Chromebook. The Google Chromebook is a bare-bones device that runs on Google’s Chrome OS. Yes, as in the Google Chrome browser. The Chromebook is basically a web browser with web-based applications for documents and spreadsheets, instead of using software like Microsoft Word. The idea behind it is to make do without the time-consuming tasks that come with traditional PCs, like installing software, updating software, and doing antivirus checks.

Samsung and Acer each have their own versions of the Google Chromebook. The Acer Chromebook will be priced at $349, while the Samsung Chromebook will have two models – one with WiFi connectivity for $429, and one with 3G connectivity for $499. These two devices will be available in the US on June 15, through Best Buy’s online store and Amazon.com.

In addition to the Chromebook, Google will be releasing a Chromebox thin desktop. This product is designed for business settings and will be part of the new Chrome for Business subscription model, which will cost $28 per month for each user. Chrome for Business will provide cloud services, and the Chromebox will be replaced at the end of their life cycle. Chromebooks for schools will also be released in the future at just $20 per student.

I’m glad we have a Samsung microwave oven in the kitchen. The Hohenstein Institute, a Germany-based research and service center for biotechnology and hygiene, just tested Samsung’s microwaves for its performance and awarded Samsung with their prestigious Hohenstein certification. Tests revealed that the microwave oven was extremely durable. Its ceramic enamel cavity does not become rusty, crack, or fall off, which prevents it from getting dirty. Furthermore, the Hohenstein Institute affirmed that Samsung’s microwave does have anti-bacterial agents on its ceramic enamel cavity, protecting it against corrosion.

Mr. Chang Wan Hong, executive vice president of the Samsung Digital Appliances section, says that their microwaves are the only ones in the world that have antibacterial porcelain enamel inside. This results in a shiny, smooth surface like a piece of pottery. Samsung Electronics plans to apply its antibacterial technology to all microwave product groups to provide consumers with healthier tools for cooking.

The Samsung Smart TV LED8000 is truly the first of its kind to hit Philippine shores. Contrary to the “idiot box” of days past, the Samsung LED8000 is equipped with an intelligent feature that suggests content based on you viewing behavior. It’s also hooked up to the internet and comes with an interactive web browser so you can address all your multimedia needs in just one device. As for the viewing experience itself, the Samsung Smart TV LED8000 gives it more depth, thanks to its 3D-compatible screen with the first-ever 3D sound system. Moreover, it also offers the convenience of a touch-screen remote control, which makes channel surfing easier and more enjoyable.

Here are just some of the things our family can do with a Samsung Smart TV.

Make live Tweets about current events

With its built-in SocialTV feature, you can watch television while checking Facebook or Tweeting updates at the same time. This is perfect for new media junkies like my mom, whose Twitter feed is a source of news for nearly 5,000 followers as she comments on the latest political and social issues in the country.

Art film nights with friends

Movie ticket prices are becoming increasingly more expensive, and I find it more practical to just torrent the latest movies and view it at home (unless it’s a movie I really want to support). The Samsung Smart TV has a Share-All feature that can synchronize content from other gadgets like a laptop or external hard drive, allowing me to watch my downloaded movies in an ultra-large screen. With this TV, I can also host movie nights with friends and show them interesting art films we wouldn’t otherwise be able to see.

Long-distance family parties

The Samsung Smart TV can support Skype, which means that my sister and other family members who are currently based abroad don’t have to feel left out when we have family gatherings at home! By logging onto Skype at the same time as our party, it’ll almost feel like my sister never left home.

Guilt-free all-night TV show marathon

Today’s TV shows have a way of sucking you into their world completely and keeping you up all night, because you just have to find out what’s going to happen next. With the Samsung Smart TV, I can watch TV as long as I want without worrying about how much electricity it consumes. Samsung made sure that this television would be energy-efficient, just like its other LCD TVs and LED TVs.

Our living room could sure use a Samsung Smart TV. I hope we win one!

Fashion designers find inspiration from all kinds of objects, from a flower in bloom to innovative architecture. Top Filipino designers Rajo Laurel, Randy Ortiz, and Rhett Eala find their new inspiration from the new Samsung Series 9 Notebook. This sleek device breaks all sorts of records – it’s thinnest netbook at only 16.3mm (0.64 inches) in depth , the lightest netbook with a weight of 1.31 kg, and its 13″ screen is the brightest, thanks to Samsung’s LED SuperBright Plus display. What makes this device so light is the duralumin metal alloy body, a metal so light it’s only used in specialized aircrafts. Aside from looking stylish, the material also makes the netbook durable and sturdy.

The slim silhouette of the Samsung Series 9 Notebook inspires Randy Ortiz, who intends to create the thinnest collection made of flowing fabric. As for Rhett Eala, his collection aims to make the wearer feel beautiful and sexy. Just as using a Samsung Series 9 notebook is a fantastic experience in itself, so do his creations make lucky girls feel sophisticated and glamorous. As for Rajo Laurel, he was inspired by the vivid colors on the monitor, and would like to create a vibrant, energetic collection that’s as brilliant as the LED display.

The Samsung series 9 will be formally unveiled on March 22 at the Grand Ballroom of the Manila Peninsula, together with the collections of the three designers.

If you must get a notebook, get the new Samsung Notebook 9 Series, which debuted at CES 2011 in Las Vegas. This 13-inch notebook is one of the lightest, most compact devices around, with a weight of only 1.31kg (2.88lbs.) and just 16.3mm(0.64inches) thick. But there are more reasons to grab one besides the sleek design. The Samsung Notebook 9 Series have a vivid ‘SuperBright Plus’ display (400nit) with 16 million color reproduction and 400nit brightness – twice as bright as the conventional display on a netbook. This promises users a bright, crystal clear viewing experience no matter where you are. An Auto Display Brightness control measures light levels in the vicinity of the notebook and automatically adjusts the brightness of the display to ensure an optimized user experience, all the while conserving battery life.

The Samsung Notebook 9 Series is powered by Microsoft Windows 7 and the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5/i7 Processor with up to 8GB memory. Using Intel’s intelligent Turbo Boost technology 2.0, users can do things smarter and faster while conserving energy. Its 128/256GB solid state drive (SSD) gives you enough space for documents, music, and movies. Samsung is a little vague on the battery life, only saying that it’s three times the length of the average notebook. However, the Samsung Notebook 9 is equipped with PowerPlus, an optimized battery charging technology that extends battery life together with the notebook’s power-efficient lithium-polymer battery.

Other nice features to look forward to are a larger, fully touch sensitive advanced gesture pad, a Fast Start feature that lets you start working within 12 seconds of powering up, the advanced sleep mode that saves data on the SSD even if the battery suddenly dies, and a 1.3M HD webcam.

No news on availability and price just yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
