The world’s thinnest notebook (well, according to Apple anyway) is now available in the Philippines! In case you can’t remember what its specs are, the Macbook Air weighs only 3 pounds and is a mere 0.76? thick that tapers down to 0.16?. It comes with a 13″ screen, 80 GB disk or 64 GB solid-state drive. Not really the most powerful notebook on earth, but I suppose its allure is in the sexy factor. It may seem really flimsy and it doesn’t have a user-replaceable battery (meaning, you’re screwed if the battery breaks down), but you can’t deny that the Macbook Air is quite a head-turner. Available at the Greenbelt Power Mac Center on a by-order basis for approximately Php 94,990.

I just bought the latest black Macbook (MB063) with the following impressive specs:

13.3 inch widesecreen (1280 x 800)
2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4MB L2 Cache
1 GB ( 2 x 512 MB), 667 MHz; Max 2GB Ram
160 GB SATA HDD at 5400 rpom
8x SuperDrive
Intel GMA X3100 Graphics, 144 MB Shared Memory
Airport Extpreme Wi-Fi 802.1 1n
Built-in Bluetooth 2.0+EDR;Built-in iSight
1//100/1000 BASE-T (Gigabit- Ethernet)
One FireWire 400 port
Two USB 2.0 ports
Battery Life up to 6 hours
Preloaded Mac OS X Leopard

The latest Macbook is such a beauty , faster and doesn’t heat up easily. I got my first macbook in June 2006 which was entry-level and hence had so many quirks like discolored keyboard, bad battery and overheating.

The macbook is the ultimate gift to give yourself or a family member. You can easily shop for a macbook at an Apple Store but not everyone lives in the USA. Now where can you buy a macbook if one lives in Southeast Asia?
